Masterworks Singers Newsletter Spring 2025 No. 22

Dear People,

First, I apologize for not delivering the promised Newsletter edition yesterday.

This Newsletter is directed at ALL current members, ALL Alumni, ALL members of Diocesan choir, and ALL prospective members.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF AN INTERNATIONAL PREMIERE INVITATION

Now that we have received news that the Masterworks Singers who were involved in the long claim process will be receiving a 100% refund soon, it is time for me to reveal the news of an exciting invitation.

We all know composer Elaine Hagenberg has chosen Masterworks Singers to be one of a select few choirs in the nation to give a National premiere of her next major work which is now scheduled for Spring 2026.

The exciting news is that she has now invited Masterworks Singers to be part of the International Premiere of the new work in Paris, France in June of 2026.

I have met with the head representative with Perform International Tours, and have done extensive research with colleagues who have toured with this company. I am confident that this company will provide a top-notch experience.

DETAILS OF THE PROPOSED TOUR

I am going to give you two links to inspect the details.

This first link is taken from Elaine Hagenberg's website explaining the details of the Performance Festival. This involves touring to Paris, France, rehearsing for the Festival with invited singers and a professional orchestra, activities and tours within Paris, and details of the International Premiere performance.

The dates are June 19-24, 2026.

The pricing that is advertised is a land-only price. Airfare is not included.

The next link is for an EXTENDED PROPOSAL.

Masterworks Singers has toured many locations over its 18-year history. When taking those tours, we had wonderful opportunities to perform as an individual choir in beautiful locales experiencing the

joy of our motto... "Bringing Peace Through Music".

As I mentioned earlier, I have met with the representatives of Perform International Tours, and have given them the history of our customized tours.

The following link gives details for what we will call our EXTENDED PROPOSAL.

This description is designed to extend our tour by two days. This particual proposal sends us to Normandy, (a very emotional experience as described by colleagues) and to Lisieux to perform a Mass and concert in the basilica of St. Therese.

I want to let you know that this is a first effort at an extended proposal. There could be some changes to the itinerary of the extension at this point, but this is an initial suggested plan.

Once again, the pricing that is described is Land-Only. Airfare is not quoted.

I am sending this information for you to peruse at your own and to discuss with family and friends.

I am hopeful that we will have enough interest to form a well-balanced touring choir.

If we have a large enough group, I will ask Perform International to see if they can quote group airfare. However, this is initially not included because many individuals have rewards plans which may make airfare more reasonable handled individually.

The next Newsletter will include another survey to determine initial interest in the trip. I have chosen not to include any extra form in this issue for simplicity.
