Masterworks Singers Newsletter Spring 2025 No. 13
Dear Singers,
This is your reminder Newsletter for the regular rehearsal schedule Thursday in the Sanctuary of St. Theresa's at 7 pm.
Rehearsal requests for this Thursday.
Once again, we will sit in the same formation as the last two times. The Basses and Tenors will face the Altos
and Sopranos, with the piano in between. Next week we will begin to have part of the rehearsal in a standing quasi-mixed formation. This is when our blend really shines when you all know the parts well enough to stand in mixed formation.
Tomorrow we will focus on Movements 1, 4 and 5 of Illuminare. I plan to give you some of Elaine's thought processes during the composition process. It is time we all really begin to focus on the "why" of each
movement. You have been excelling on the "what"... now let's elevate the musicianship to incorporate the "why".
During the second portion of rehearsal, we run the three other pieces. You made great progress on those with our detailed rehearsal last week. Now it is time to run them as a whole.
I am thrilled with the new members over the past 3 rehearsals. I want to stress to all the old members to reach out and make these new
members feel like they have always been a part of us. Help their "newness" to now begin to morph into community!
Each Thursday between now and concert...remember... "Just a little bit better each time". Little improvements add up to a marvelous whole!
