Masterworks Singers Newsletter Spring 2025 No. 8
Dear Singers,
Good day to you all! This is your reminder Newsletter for the regular rehearsal schedule this Thursday evening in the Sanctuary of St. Theresa's at 7 pm. I hope everyone is staying healthy and hydrated during this change of weather! Vocal health is dependent on your hydration and
vitamins!
Rehearsal requests for this Thursday.
Last week we made tremendous progress on the Illuminare Movement 1 and Movement 5. We also did a solid polishing of entrances and cutoffs on the challenging section of The Parting Glass!
This week let us do the same kind of concentrated work on Movements 2 and 4.
Also, we will sing completely through the Sky Born Music and highlight spots for personal
study.
We will conclude with a review "run" of Movements 1 and 5 to solidify our work from last week.
Rehearsal Seating Arrangement for this Thursday.
I ask that you return at the beginning of rehearsal this Thursday evening to the formation we were in last week. That allows us to hear our own parts, but begin to rely more on our own independence as well. Our goal is to achieve comfort in a true mixed
formation. We will go step by step to get there. For now, we are in what I call a "quasi mixed" where you still have your own sections within one or two singers of each other.
We are still open to new members joining. I remarked last week about how great it would be to have a few more Basses. Please pass that word among your church and other singer contacts.
I look forward to another great Thursday night, where we enjoy forward
progress in this great music.
Blessings to all,
Morris
